Defence & Range Clearance

UXO, ERW & De-Mining Operations

Training Area Restoration & Range Clearance Support

Kingwell provides armoured, remote-controlled demining and de-vegetation equipment to MOD and defence contractors managing range clearance and training area restoration projects across the UK. Our fleet clears vegetation, stumps and redundant structures, then supports the detection and clearance of UXO and ERW, helping bring sites back into safe use.

Accredited Site Clearance & Restoration

Restoring Training Areas

Ranges and training areas can become overgrown with vegetation over time, restricting their use and complicating ordnance clearance work. Kingwell’s equipment clears scrub, trees and stumps to expose the ground, supporting survey and clearance teams ahead of restoration. Our armoured machines are built to withstand contact with high explosives, both at the attachment and around the base machine, allowing work to continue safely on sites with known ordnance risk.

Accredited for Defence and Public Sector Work

Kingwell holds JOSCAR registration, along with CHAS, SSIP, Construction Online and CPA accreditations, supporting our work with defence and public sector clients. Our MineWolf MW916B is supplied complete with a fully trained and certified operator, with the system available for rapid deployment.

Our Equipment

Kingwell builds remote-controlled machines for the clearance of unexploded ordnance (UXO), legacy munitions and explosive remnants from defence ranges and former military land. Based in the UK, we supply robust, field-tested equipment to defence contractors, range management organisations and military clearance teams.

Remote operation keeps personnel out of the danger area, while high mobility and a range of tool attachments handle the varied terrain found across live and disused ranges. Every machine meets British and international safety standards, helping teams clear contaminated ground efficiently and bring land back into safe use.

MineWolf MW916B

Demining, UXO & ERW Clearance Armoured Excavator

This fully armoured, twin-engine 420hp excavator withstands direct contact with high explosives at the work tool location and from all directions around the base machine. The operator environment is fully pressurised, with filtered protection against airborne contaminants including depleted uranium and asbestos, making it suited to former military sites with contaminated ground.

Frequently Asked Questions

We hold JOSCAR registration, along with CHAS, SSIP, Construction Online and CPA accreditations, supporting our work with MOD and public sector clients.

Our armoured machines are built to withstand contact with high explosives at the attachment and around the base machine, with operator environments protected against airborne contaminants. This makes them suitable for sites with known ordnance risk, subject to the usual site safety and clearance procedures.

Overgrown ranges often need vegetation, stumps and redundant structures cleared before ordnance survey and clearance can begin. We carry out this preparatory clearance using the same fleet, reducing the need to bring in separate equipment.

Yes. All our machines are supplied with a fully trained and certified operator.

The MW916B carries a tiller, mulcher, tree shear, stump shear, selector grab, ripper tooth and land rake as standard, with additional attachments such as concrete breakers and steel shears available on request.
